Epsom Salt Bath

The skin forms a self-replacing (2-3 weeks), multi-functional, resilient covering for the body that adjusts easily to a remarkable variation in environment, as well as adapting to the needs of the underlying structures that it shelters. Similar to some other organs, it performs the specialized functions involved in perception of sensation, repair of wounds, immunological defense, cholesterol synthesis, steroid hormone synthesis, carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism.
Your skin is your largest eliminative organ. Hundreds of thousands of tiny sweat glands act not only as the regulators of body temperature, but also as small kidneys, the detoxifying organs which are ready to cleanse the blood and free the system from health-threatening poisons.
The following recommendations are not for the individual who may or does have serious health problems: It is strongly suggested you consult your physician before attempting this therapy, for a check of blood pressure and your other vital signs.

“Epsom Salt Bath”

Briskly stir 1 to 1 ½ cups of Epsom salts and ½ cup Baking Soda into a tub of water as hot as you can stand. Keep a damp cloth close at hand to mop your face. This helps control your temperature. Drink two (8oz.) glasses of water before, during, and after the bath. Length of the bath should be no longer than 20 minutes. After the bath have someone help you from the tub and rest for at least two hours in bed.
Should you experience dizziness, nausea, or heart palpitations, discontinue the bath immediately and lay down.
