Alternate Hot and Cold Compresses

for the Reduction of Swelling and/or Inflammation

Take a washcloth or hand towel and soak it in water that is as hot as you can handle.
Place the towel on the affected part of the body. Cover the towel with a woolen article of clothing (i.e. scarf) and stay like this for 5 minutes.


Now, take the towel and soak it in very cold water. Place the cold towel on the affected area. Cover with wool and leave for 10 minutes. Repeat 3 times a day for 3 days.
It’s nice to have a friend help you, so that you can relax during the procedure.
